All purpose flour
Cream of Tartar
- Preheat oven to 450F
- Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt.
- Cut in shortening with a pastry cutter or fork, until you have formed coarse crumbs.
- In a separtate bowl, whisk together egg and milk. Add slowly, while stirring, to the flour mixture until the dough comes together. Mix until ingredients are incorporated...but do NOT overwork the dough.
- Drop large spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown in color.Biscuits can be served with butter, jam, honey, or with country sausage gravy. Enjoy!
